Colonel(played by Naseer Hussain) is a doctor and he is a mental doctor. He has his own theory of treatment any patient who comes to him for treatment. He feels that every male patient searches his motherly love after he detaches from her. He specializes in the field of accute-mania. He with the help of her nurse Radha(Waheeda Rehman) cured a patient named
Dev(Dharmendra).

Then he took the responsibility of curing Arun Chowdhury(Rajesh Khanna). But here Radha realizes that she is about to loose her concentration because in giving them love, she herself got attached to them. Because she felt love for the patients whom she has spent time with. And that became her prpblem to keep discripancy in personal and professional life.

The music of the movie was composed by Hemant Kumar. The lyrics were written by Gulzar. Hemant Kumar, Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar gave voice for the songs in the movie.
